Wiring a B18C5 into an EG.
Thank you to those who are goin go read this post and give thier insight. Greatly appreciated...
Im not to great on wiring yet so here goes. Im currently doing my swap. I have two wire harness and two ECUs. I have the harness and ecu from a 2001 typeR which is OBD2 as u all know and one from my 93Si OBD1. Which combination is best compatitable to run my b18c5 best in my 93si. What other additional wiring is nessecary. Please give me ur insight, im doing my research now before i tackle the job. I want it done right the first, and hopefully its the only time.
Thanks. (might be a dumb question to ask, but i once was told, there are no dumb questions, only a dumb result!)

If you have your SI ecu rechipped (contact Kenji here on H-T) and use the Type R wiring harness, it will be completely plug and play.
Also, if you do a search, there is TONS of info about this swap on here.

BEST WAY --- IMO
use your d16z harness.
solder the odb2 injector plugs from your obd2 harness onto your obd1.
change the order of your obd1 HARNESS dist wires to match with the obd2 dist. ( i think there is only 1 or 2 wires that actually need to be moved)
swap the alternator plugs from the obd2 alternator to the obd1 plug only.
chip your p28.
bada bing...no codes and you now have an obd1 b18c5
if its a japanese b18 then you will need to find a usdm vtec solenoid w/ plug (from your d16z6)

Why bother modifying the stock harness when he already has the typeR harness?
The obd2 typeR harness will plug directly into his civic main harness.
So no cutting or rewiring to do at all.
Just plug the harness in and plug in the rechipped p28 ecu.
Then he's done.
Much easier.

If I'm not mistaken as long as you got the USDM OBD2 ITR harness it should be plug and play. and since it's an si you putting it in you're already wired for vtec. so it's completely plug and play if you use a chipped P28 and if you use an OBD2 ecu you'll need a conversion harness along with wiring up a few additional OBD2 stuff(knock/IAB). but someone correct me if I'm wrong. but you should really do a search there's plenty on info in the archives. good luck
