just take the big blue wire off the dizzy (i think its the blue one.... its been a while) or you can pull the gauge cluster out and splice into the stock tach wire

theres a pin on the fuse box for accessories. I always just spliced to the radio tho for keyed power

The best way to install a tach is to buy a cluster with a tach on it. Shouldn't cost more than $80.

Ah.... you're one of those people.....

"Hey everyone, should I spend $60-80 on a tachometer that's prewired and bolts right into my car because it's part of the cluster .... or should I spend $150 on some 5" clock that I have to drill into my car to install and splice wires?"

Nah, you can find a civic ex cluster with a tachometer for $80 or less. Check ebay.

*CORRECTION* Maybe $100 + shipping, tops. They seem to have gone up a tiny bit since I bought mine 2 years ago

Anyhoo, regardless of the price, it's simpler, cleaner, and best of all ... made by honda.
