Default ++ Wire Tuck Question ++ Fuse Box??

I am currently doing a wire tuck on my eg right now and I am stopping until I figure out where to put the fuse box. I see the people w/o the fuse box in the engine bay but have no clue where they hide it?

Cliff Notes:

Where do you relocate the fuse box? (hidden)

Theres like no room under the dash..?

I'd say in the glove box or under the passenger side air bag panel.

Ya i thought about the glove box, but would have to chop it up to fit it in there..

As for the air bag ,, im making a daily driver with a/c, and the stock airbags heh so yea

And for pics of the engine bay check out my post on the whole rebuild:

thas what i've seen and heard. theres basically no room under the dash with the heatercore still there. but i'd stick that badboy in the glovebox. Easy access...and easily replaceable.

you have to cut, because of the way the glovebox slopes and becomes less deep at the base so the box wont fit

and i have mine in the glove box

Also do you take it out to change fuses? or is it mounted so you can get access w/o doing that?

I have a 93 Eg hatch and i removed the heater core, blower motor and much of the vent work. I mounted mine facing towards the floor behind the glove box. Its attached to the support bracket for the dash. Its easy to get at and change fuses and I still have full use of my glove box.

Any pics?

Sorry to bump this old thread. Like the original thread starter said, this is the only thread that deals with EG specific / fuse box relocation

I also would like to relocate the battery under the dash. Heater core is coming out

Oh damn!! Just realized this is Mike with the blue EG. What's up man? Did you ever finish the tuck??

You could probably mount it under the passenger seat if you wanted, it may make it more of a PITA to check the fuses, but if you are considering putting it where the heater core goes I doubt you care about that.
