My wipers are starting to get cranky as well. They have a very delayed reaction. WHen I turn them on, it takes at least 5 seconds before they actually start wiping. Sometimes, they would even get stuck at the top of the swing and I start looking like a riceboy that purposely keeps his wipers up. It's not that big of a problem to me since they still work.

I wonder if it's the relay, and not the motor though...

If the wiper still moves then I doubt it's the motor, it's probably the relay. The whole wiper assy is pricey if you go through the dealer. If you really want to replace it, try a junkyard first, I'm sure all 5th gen civic wiper assy. are interchangeable. I'm gonna wait until mine goes kaput and I'll get the infamous one wiper conversion.

I have the same problem. usually when I switch from intermittent to low the wipers pause for a second. Usually during that time I think, "Oh crap, my wipers are broken and it's raining."

I have a cheap solution though. Rain-X that beotch and drive faster.

True, RainX is the shiznit. I actually haven't used my wipers in months except for driving around neighborhoods where I can only go 25 and the RainX is useless. I don't have the luxury of intermittent wipers though. I have low and high and that's it. Has anyone tried the rainx wiper fluid?
