Windshield Wiper Problem
Ok here's the problem:
The only way I can get my wipers to work is if I hold the stalk down. When I set it to one of the int. settings nothing will happen. If I pull back on the stalk for the misters, I will get spray as well as the wipers. This isn't a huge problem right now but it just sucks driving in the heavy rain having to hold down the stalk to get the wipers to come on.
Is this a fuse problem or is there something inside the stalk I need to change? TIA for any help!
And yes I did check the archives but they threads in there didn't deal with the problem I'm having.

Re: Windshield Wiper Problem (d15 dirk)
here's a howto I made a while back... some tests that can be done.... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=845731
Do the wipers park themselves? i.e. release the switch, do they stop where they're supposed to?
It honestly does sound like the switch though... they're not stuck on... they park themselves... 2 of 3 components eliminated as possibilities...
edit: the switch/stalk is replaced as one unit.... so far as I could tell not exactly servicable...

Actually the wipers do not park themselves. If I pull back and release, they will stop halfway or wherever I choose to let go of the stalk. So basically I will need to replace the whole stock/switch?

And how do I go about fixing the problem if it's the ICU?

replace the ICU. you can probably find a million of em at the junk yard as they're not a highly sought after part...

Re: Windshield Wiper Problem (wootcivic)
Thanks guys! This is what I'm going to do:
1) Fuses
if that doesn't solve it then:
2) ICU
might be a problem for me getting out to a junkyard though...and if that doesn't work...
3) Replace the entire stalk (#8 on the previously posted diagram).
