Windshield mirror...

How do you removed the rear view mirror on the windshield. It look like it's suppose to just slide off. Is there a trick or a specific to removed it. Btw, it's a 92 civic.

Work it like a tooth... Put a rope around it, drape it to the back and tie it to the tailgate... then slam it open... Voila!
