Is the bottom glass bracket for the windshield necessary? It is part #4 I am refering to:

I am asking because after I had my windshield replaced I noticed the installers broke the bracket and the clip is not holding or resting on to the windshield, wondering if I need to replace.

I think it's so the window doesn't sag or droop over time. You know with heat softening the seal. So yes get them and take the receipt to repair place and have them reimburse you since they broke it
