Windshield glass for a 96 cx hatch?
Will a windshield from a coupe or sedan fit my hatch? I am getting some body work done and the windshield will need to be removed. The windshield has a smal crack in it so I would feel better putting a new or used uncracked windshield in. are the windshields model specific. anyone know a good place to look? I am in southwest florida. any advice would be much appreciated.

Re: Windshield glass for a 96 cx hatch?
I think getting and installing a used glass is going to be trouble. I just had my original glass replaced because it was pitted/hazy. The sealed molding has to be removed to prevent chewing up the painted surface when the glass is removed. I actually cracked the glass twice when removing the molding myself, and I don't think I could get an original molding back on without it being wavy as hell. The total bill was $217. When you consider $50 of that is labor, and the new glass comes with the $42 molding installed, the glass is "cheap". I wouldn't discourage anyone from trying to do it themselves - lord knows I did when I was younger. It's just very hard to get a satisfactory result. And if you break the used glass going in, you're out whatever you spent. Check with your local glass dealer - the Civic is common so parts like this are reasonable .
