Windsheild wipers over bumps?
Ok, so when I hit big bumps in the road, my windshield wiper just wipes once for no reason at all. I can't figure out what the hell it could be. I was thinking the switch inside the steering column (because of an attempted theft the broke it and it was replaced) or maybe a relay. Has this happened to anyone and if so what was it?

you know how you can push down on the wiper lever to make them go once?? Well, the whole lever is probably loose enough that the force of the bump makes it go off....I've seen it before

yep, same thing on my friends car, the lever has enough play in it that the bouncing motion throws it down enough to activate the wipers, but on my friends car (old chrysler), down once is the low speed constant, and up is intermittent, down twice is high and pull toward is washer and wipe like 5 times, so it will go on as long as he leaves it, its funny as ****.

On my EF it did this... the arm got old and worn out...
So what I did was bunch up some electrical tape and shove it under the lever to help pad and make a sort of stop to hold the arm in place. Works perfect.

My buddies EK does it too. One of the springs inside of his wiper lever wasn't connected right and some white plastic thing was broke. He took it out and when it rains he just plugs in it. It's a pain but he's too broke to fix and plus his wife won't let him.
