I'm just going to respray mine flat black. You can try looking at a junkyard, but you'll be hard pressed to find some where the paint isn't coming off. I would suggest a respray.

I've rattle canned mine probally a half dozen times and theyre still chipping. I need to find a better way to prep them before I paint to keep the paint on them.

How long does the paint stay on for?

The paint usually doesn't stay on for very long if you don't rough up the surface with sand paper. Try sanding with 400grit before painting, thats what I did and it has flaked or chipped.

I did mine nearly a year and a half ago and they still look fine.

I just sanded them down with like 80 grit to get off most of the paint and sprayed on a few coats of Krylon black primer.

It's one of the few things I've done that has turned out well.

umm.... wut bout trying special paint that sticks to metal better?

go to ur local home depot or lowes

and ask em... do you have spray paint that sticks well on metal, and resists cracking and peeling...

i tried searching krylon's website for a solution...

the closest thing i could find that may work is their Krylon Rust Tough Rust Preventative Enamels

http://www.krylon.com/main/pro...tails

hope thats helpful

mine is faded as well, and this will prove to be useful when I repaint or redo mine.

autozone doesnt carry arms. Thats a dealership/junkyard item only.

I just repainted mine about a month ago and they still look great. I should have done a write-up, but it's really simple to get that fresh new look. This is by far the easiest, cheapest way to inhance the look of your ride - if your wiper arms have seen better days.

Like everyone said:

1.Remove the wiper arms
2.Note which arm goes where
3.Remove the wiper blades
4.Note which blade goes on which arm
5.Sand off loose debris and rough up the surface. (I believe I used 100-200 grit sandpaper)
6.Wash, wipe and let dry fully.
7.Spray down a few coats of Krylon Primer (Grey)
8.Let dry - re-spray as needed. (You may want to let the primer dry for 1-2 hours or overnight)
9.You may want to sand the primered wiper arms with 300-400 grit (optional)
10.Spray with as many coats as needed of Krylon Semi-Flat Black
11.Let dry overnight.
12.Install your new blinging wiper arms. You will have a new self-confidence that everyone will notice

Mine had a big spot on the driverside where it was down to the metal. It used to bug the **** out of me when I was driving because of the reflection of the sun.

I cleaned mine with brake parts cleaner and then used a self-etching primer before painting, and it has held up for a while now. Did the same with my door window frames and roll bar.

^^Autozone^^ Black, red, blue. I've even seen yellow. I got black, love em. Aluminum anodized i think. I'm too lazy to sand stuff then paint it. I'm sure I spent under $20 at autozone for em. paint = $10 plus 30 mins to sand. $20 was well worth my time and effort/money.

Maybe. Are the ones at Autozone a shiny black? Or a flatblack? The OEM ones are a flat black, that's why I like the idea of the DIY you can easily get them to look like stock.
