Window Trim Removal

Window Trim Removal
Hey guys, I'm having what seems to be a fairly common problem with the little aluminum bar directly under my window. It was painted black originally, but now that it has become very chipped and brittle I'd like to remove it and repaint it. The only problem is that I can't seem to find any guide or clear walkthrough for how to go about this process. If someone could direct me I would be very thankful.

Re: Window Trim Removal
I'm going to reply assuming you have an EK like I do.
(1) Open your door and you will see three screws (vertical) holding in the plastic that runs along the B-pillar side of the door. Once you unscrew those, that vertical plastic piece will come off.
(2) Once that piece is off, the trim you want to paint will lift right up. Now i'm not sure if it will pop right out since i've never tried... I've heard you may need to remove you mirror... but atleast you'd have a start
