Bought a 1998 EX coupe this summer, everything good Except the drivers window gets this goop on it-like stringy rotten rubber bands-when I drop it down part way. The rubbery smear is tough to get off with Windex, and it comes right back whenever I drop the window. Today I noticed the passenger window is getting the same problem at the front end of the window. I figure I'll take the door panel off for a look, but does anybody know what this is?

Sounds like window tint glue leftover after someone took off their tint. I have the same thing on my windows. Goo Gone is supposed to get rid of it but it didn't work for me. Just take a razor blade and scrape it off until the glass is smooth, that should work.

Make sure to wet the window while you are doing it.

Wet it down with water then spray it with the Goo Gone?

No sorry, if you are going to use a razor blade on your window, the window has to be wet. Otherwise it will scratch the **** out of it. I have always just used window cleaner. Just make sure you keep spraying and it stays wet. And keep the razor blade as straight as possible.
