Window Cleaning Inside and Out
Ok what i did was used some off brand rain-x style wipes on my windows. One was for the outside (which i put on the outside) and the other was an antifog wipe.
I have Used Rain-x itself before and never had a problem.
Now, The wipes i used worked great for a long time but now i have a problem.
On the outside, i have these spots that look just like water spots after going through a puddle or something, but these things wont come off, its like my window has a clearcoat that is starting to peel off in spots.
On the inside, I have this greasy looking film on it, and if you try to buff it out it just smears around and when the sun hits it you cant see anything except a huge glare.
I have tried everything from Windex to rain-x window cleaner that is supposed to strip antifog stuff, to some of my dads industrial degreaser and even Rubbing alcohol.
Nothing i try will take this off, it just smears it around more and more, its all over every single window on the inside, and the spotty stuff is just on the outside of the front windshield.
Any ideas on how to clear this up?

Thiers this stuff at Orchard supply a.k.a. hardware store called " No Streek" glass cleaner its a foam and it is streak free on windows (4 or 5 bucks) it works wonders but remember when u are drying or cleaning ur windows park in the shade and let ur windows cool down, then apply this solution and i almost gurantee u will like it and will work great for the inside windows.

Re: (Ej1_coupe)
nm i missed the OFF brand rain x type wipes, ignore my post
Rain-x has to applied similar to wax.
you apply it in a circular motion, wait a few then remove it the same way.
i'm wondering if you just left in on the window? btu if youw ere applying it properly i'm nto sure why its like that. i use the product all the time. as for the anti-fog i can't say anythig about it.
i would keep trying multiple windex cleaning sessions and see if that wears it down.

Re: (gunnis)
i dont know what caused the outside
the antifog is the same way, circular like wax, let dry, then buff out clear.
i have used the rain-x all the time and never had this problem, but this off brand stuff did this.
