Default Wilwood Front Big Brake kit on 15" Rota Slipstreams

Anybody with this setup? Would this fit and any pics?

I have '92 HB. Would I have to swap a '94+ knuckles?

I have a 92 CX and bought the Wilwood kit from Summit and it did not even come close to fitting behind 15" rims.

I ended up buying the Fastbrakes kit with 11" two piece rotor and Wilwood Dynalite caliper and it fits awesome behind my 15" Volk CE28n rims and my Rota 15" Circuit 8 rims. I'm using stock CX knuckles. Not sure on the Slipstreams but at least now you have a little more information.

Thanks for the info!

I tried the template that was provided by wilwood.com and you're right. It doesn't come close. I'd say I need about 1/2" more to fit.

Rotors in the fastbrake kit redrilled ones?

P.S.: Where in Michigan are you?

yea, for 15" rim, u get to call fastbrake. they have 2 choice for the 4 piston kit, 11 or 11.75" they both can clear my 15" K1(38offset).

The 11" rotors in the FastBrakes kit are 4x100 11" VW corrodo rotors. No redrilling. The center bore is bigger so a hub centric ring is also shipped for each side.

I like mine!!!

The caliper mounting brackets that come with the Fastbreake kit, is that original Wilwood made or Fastbrake made?

One more. The original Wilwood Front Big Brake kit comes with 12.19" rotors. So I'd think that Billet Dynalite caliper in the kit was designed for that 12.19" rotors. Is it safe to use smaller 11" VW rotors?

I can buy Wilwood kit @ Summit Racing for $606.00 compare to Fastbrake for $699.95

Don't mix and match, I know I tried it, doesn't work. Ended up having Brian (Fastbrakes) overnight me some parts. The spacing on the mounting brackets will be wrong. You can purchase either kit, but the Fastbrakes kit will work with 15" rims, the Summit kit won't. Plus the Summit kit uses crossdrilled/slotted rotors which you don't need. Blanks or slots would be best.

The Fastbrakes mounts are made by Fastbrakes, very nice pieces.

The kit on summit is for cars with stock 10.25" discs, im pretty sure that my 2000 DX has smaller ones, but would it werk, or do i have to get the other wilwood kit?

No, you have to get the kit for your car and stock disc size. That's why they have 2 kits.

it depends on your wheel offset. I have a set a 16inch le37s that clear my wilwood big brake kit but my friends 16 inch gram lites didnt clear, the spoke hit the caliper

I believe its a 40mm offset, but if it came right down to it a small spacer should be reliable enough to cure that problem right?

Which kit. The fast brakes wilwood setup would work. the big brake upgrade from Summit racing with the 12.5 rotors won't work with any 15 inch wheel.

Okay I just realized someone brought this post back from the dead. 2 years old.

Jeesus

In answer to the original poster's question if its the Summit kit then it depends on the off set of the wheels.

Actually since the grids or a knock off of the gram lights then no it most likely won't fit if the offsets are the same.

You can't be serious. Please post a reference if so.

Acutally the Grid is a copy of the TE37/LE37, so there is a slim chance it could fit. The 12.2" kit fit fine behind my 16" TE37s and C8s.
