ok so here's tha thing, i've got a post right now going about how my motor is pretty much running like crap and we can't really figure out why. so with that said i found a complete d15 vtec near me. motor trans ecu tranny but no wiring harness. tha motor i currently have is a y7block with a y8 head. tha guy is telling me i can just drop his motor in, use my p28 or tha p28 he has, use MY wiring harness and my intake manifold, wire up vtec and everything will be just fine. i'm still new to tha honda scene so i was going to see what you all have to say about it. thanks

yea a buddy of mine thats had a few honda's and even 1 with a mini me swap said it would too but at tha sametime i kinda want to know for sure before i spend some cash

not sure how valid this is but someone told me most D series parts are all interchangable... transmissions and stuff included.

similar to B series, how you can put a ITR intake mani on your b16 or what ever... and a gsr transmission on a b20 block... thats what i was told anyways

I just did one...I jus used my y8 head complete intake manifold everything attached, Y8 vtec solenoid, ect runs fine...seems a lil slower haha but I havnt been runnin this motor hard either, not like I did my Y8 till I blew it haha

I've heard the d15b has a more aggressive cam. I should've swapped my cam too but didn't

yes sir look d15b vtec is like d16z6 but wit better cams and the block is 1.5 wit rod from z6 and hight comp piston the only thing frm y8 that has more tq..but yeah i think is better but thats mine coment idk about other people...and always take car of you car cuz that talk about who you are and wht you drive..lol

This is partially true. There was a post a while back where someone had access to a bunch of D15Bs and he pulled the cams and most were the same as the D16Z6, only a few were more aggressive. So this is not totally true. The d15b does have more compression and seems to rev more freely.

Intake manifolds do swap out on D series. If you get a 1992-95 D15B, you'll have to swap oil pumps or do something to simulate the knock sensor or just run a OBD1 ECU. If it's the 1996 spec, you'll have fun getting the right ECU because it's not available in the US and has to be imported. 3 stage vtec has both economy vtec and regular vtec.

I have the dual stage solenoid but used my Y8 manifold and solenoid , but I'm having trouble with a vacuum leak on the manifold gasket part, that's why I thought maybe it didn't fit or something...does anyone know or can help me with this?...
