will an LS dizzy work on a B16A2?
ok, the other day my distributor went. i went to autozone and told them i need a dizzy from a 94 del sol DOHC(sorce of my b16). well they give me the dizzy and i go home to install it. one problem, it doesnt line up correct. its kind of coxked the wrong way. on the original, the flat part we facing up. but on the one i bought, the flat part was facing up and back. it didnt look right and alarmed me. so i went back to autozone. and after checking almost every honda and acura dizzy they had. the one that macthed mine was from an LS. go figure. i havent put it in yet cuz of the rain, but from what i can remember it looks just like the core i turned in.
eric(mdlax) asked if the vtec wire goes to the dizzy, if so, would a dizzy from a non-vtec motor work?
please help, cuz no friggin parts store can help me. and Honda wants almost 600 bucks, just for the part.
my main concern was the "flat" part. noctice how there is an "arm" directly behind it! this was the only other dizzy i could find like that.
heres some pics of the dizzy i bought. if anyone has a dizzy for a b16, please compare them.

Re: (cynosurecivic)
I wouldn't think it works, but not sure. the reason I say that is because my old non vtec d15 distributor would not work on the JDM d15 motor it would studder at mid range like it was not sparking a whole cylinder

LS dizzu will work once you loose on of the legs and make cutouts in the other remaining mounting points...IMHO.... its not worth the trouble or having issues with timing and looking at ghetto rigged part.
check out our sponsor Dizzy King, they do have these instock

you can run any 92-01 B-series dohc vtec dizzy with very little work to wiring.
bolt ons are: 92-5 JDM B16a/ 92-5 USDM GSR (b17a and b18c)

Answer is in the link, archived content courtesy of yours truly. AJ is right, it will work, just will be ghetto rigged as ****, do it only if you have no other option at the time being and need your car running. Not a very good idea for a long term thing, although I had mine like that for like a year and a half.
