The tegs came stock with a cone type filter. Civic's had only panel type filters. You could probably modify the stock box to accept a cone style filter.

just get a K&N drop-in filter. the difference between a panel filter and a cone filter is miniscule.

if your not hell bent on a k&n i know hks makes a foam pan filter that will drop into a sir2's box. im not sure about performance gains though cuz it came with my car when i bought it.
have you removed the resanator and insulation from the bottom of the box?? it will give you a little hp boost if you dont mind the little extra noise when you stomp on it... its free hp the best kind.

stock airboxes have insulation? I've got K&N drop in and a removed resonator... didnt know there was insulation. Any tips on how to remove it? Free hp gains are the best hp gains
