will i loose hp if I...........
WIll it take hp from me if i put a silencer on my exhuast i love the sound but i get to much attebtion from cops...so will i loose hp if i put one on!!

actually, it makes a slight difference. noticeable or not, going through a hole the size of stock exhaust at the end will hurt you

I agree.
With the silencer that you add to the exhaust tubing, you won't notice any real difference on a moderately modded car. If you're referring too the type that bolts into the exhaust tip like the Apexi N1 baffle, you will notice a pretty significant difference, built or not.

yeah theres a difference.
as with almost any mod,
it depends on the strength of your motor.
for most honda motors.. its not that big of a deal.
if you have some fully built monster, or have a crazy turbo strapped on...
then I wouldnt mess around with silencers.
have your exhaust setup to not sound like **** from the start(piping diameter.. resonators.. etc)

You'll notice it on the midrange and on top but because of the extra backpressure sometimes there is a little more low end torque. Overall you do lose minimal horsepower. It's not really gonna make that much of a difference on the street if you drive pretty normal.

the first time i put the silencer in my tanabe super RM, i was on a cross country trip. I didn't feel like listening to my exhaust for 2000 miles. I did notice a loss in hp, especially in the top end. I got halfway through arkansas and had to take it out. and BOY, what a difference. Maybe it's just my butt dyno, but taking the silencer out seemed to make a huge difference.

yeah, when I had my A'PEXi N1, the top end felt absolutely STRANGLED with the stick-in silencer installed. but in reality, i think the quietness made up for it; w/o the silencer it was way too loud and farty. w/ it in, it was deeper, a lot quieter, but still farty.

i can notice a difference in top end with my silencer in. but then again, you have a silencer in, why are you taking it to 8.4 in the first place?
