itl fit. i gave an axle back borla muffler to my friend 4dr eg to ek coupe. it fit just fine

It's longer than the '92-'95 one. I have a stock 6th gen sedan one on my '94 CX, and it's not a good fit. The hanger doesn't line up very well (though it does work enough), and the muffler was hitting my bumper support area until I took a hammer and a pry bar to it. The tip on the muffler was also way too long, I ended up cutting 3 or 4 inches off of it.

So let me get this straight for myself and everyone else that will want to know.

93 style civic coupes, sedans, and hatches have the same axle back exhaust?

96 style civic coupes, sedans, and hatches also have the same axle back exhaust that is interchangeable to the previous style civics (eg's)?

no hatch backs have their own shape and size. coupe and 4dr are the same though
it depends on the muffler i guess. but the borla muffler was small oval. not a giganitc muffler

i didnt say 3dr did i? the hatches use a shorted axle back. all 92-00 header/cat/midpipe are the same as long as the cat is under the car

Well I bought an ek axle back Mugen twin loop BUT the piping is to long by about 8". Looks like the angle of the flange is right but I'll have to goto the muffler shop and have them shorten it.

no they don't!
I am currently running my kteller catback on my 99 hatch, it was made for my 95 coupe. the center section fits perfectly, the around the gas tank only fit because it was adjustable, and the axleback had to cut the muffler off right at the second bend after the control arm, and weld 14" total length muffler on, thats how I got a coupes catback to fit a hatch.

then I got a 2000 si catback direct fit to my 1995 coupe with no adjustment.

and after that I put a 95 civic coupe catback to direct fit a 95 civic sedan , I had to bend the hangers to reach the sedan's hangers.

I would assume that it both cars are hatchbacks, or coupes they will fit perfectly, but if they are not the same body style you will need to modify.
all those fitments were from personal experience I own 4 different hondas.

The one I got could've been for a coupe and not a hatch thats why its longer. Well there goes another $60.

Also I bought a DC2 axle back and it lined up perfect on my EK coupe.

now here is a question since the OP's was answered, what axle back is a match for the del sol? I would imagine the hatchbacks are similar, though I expect the del sol to be seperate
