I know for a fact the the axle back section of an eg hatch and an ek hatch are the same.

no, the exhausts are different (hopefully i don't have to post pics about this too... ). the ek is longer. the both can be modded to fit each other chassis, but if you are buying one new, just buy the one for your chassis.

argh..... so, according to both these posts above, one would conclude that the exhaust are the same. NO, they are not.... now i remember why i stopped posting in this forum, i'll stick to the roadrace forum...

I have a miracle fire ball exhaust for a ek9 on my eg6 I had to cut about 2 inches out of the center pipe for proper fitment. I also had to relocate one of the hangars on the center pipe so it would fit. The 3rd section (around the gass tank) was a little different but it lined up ok. Axle back require no mods.

coupes are almost the same
but the hatches are totally different

only if you're talking about full length cat backs.

but axleback-only applications are sold "92-00". so only those ARE compatible.

yes, i would tend to agree there. i have no experience with just mufflers though, i never saw the point.

Yeah, 92-00 coupes and sedans have the same axleback section

Catbacks need a little work though.

i put a mugen type-r exhaust on my eg6. i only had to cut 6" of the muffler section the rest fit perfect. you cant even tell it was cut at all.
