the car will run fine even if you daily drive it you just wont have vtec which isnt a big loss in d series anyway

It'll run the car, your gas mileage won't be the best and neither will your power. Also, your VTEC won't work.
If you don't have a P28 you can get that OBD-I DX ECU chipped you can run a Z6 basemap and everything would work perfectly.

be careful how you use that term, "chipped" usually refers to the simple conversion to an external set of fuel/ign maps.
what you'd need is to "chip" it AND add the VTEC components.
(for now, until some of the versions of software out there get more of the bugs worked out)
OP - it would still be cheaper than a P28.
