Will a Cat help quiet my ES muffler??!
 

I'm running a B16A with with an ES oval can (2 1/4"). I've had this set up for over a year. I actually do like the buzzing fart sound. But it's too loud to be driving in the streets where i live. I feel the "heat"! I'm ready to quiet this sucker down. Do you guys think a cat would help? stock cat? high flow (any sound difference?)? I just want to quiet it down with the LEAST amount of money having to be spent. What suggestions do you guys have? Are u guys running cats??

Yea, a cat will definitely keep it quieter. I have 2.5" piping with a 2.5" es oval, without a resonator, and mine isn't any louder than your average cat-back.

What kind of cat are u running? My exhaust get's raspy between 3000-4000 RPMs. 5000+ RPMs = LOUD!! I know its definately not the usual cat back exhaust sound.
