I was wondering what a b-20 block, with type r transmission and a b-16a2 head. I currently have a b-16 with a type r transmission and want a b-20 block. I need to know what the swap entails and how much it would cost before i go ahead with it.

search... and you will find that all b series swaps are simple and straight forward

but...

do this instead:
1: get a b20 block
2: take b20 block to a shop and have them swap your b16 head on it
3: sell your b16 block

now you have a car with tons more power and you still have all your vtec goodness... just don't rev quite as high with your crv motor and you'll be fine.

ahh... also, i didn't notice that you have a type r transmission...

if you did the work to install the tranny, you might have the knowhow to perform the b20vtec swap yourself... if not, just take it to the shop you took it to before when you had the type r tranny installed...

except...just bolting it on isnt just how its done, and Id be afraid most shops would just do that....

B20 bottom end bolts in but the head dosn't you need to get the Vtec conversion kit and then get no drill dowl pins or drill the dowl pins out to make it fit.

and also the type R tranny i am sure bolts right in man it was a B series from the start.
