Will 92-95 d16z oil pan for a 98 d16y8
Like the title saids, do anyone know what other civic oil pan can replace my 98 civic d16y8 oil pan. I damaged mine, and was wondering if I can use any other oil pan so that it will make it easier for me to find one. Thanks

Did he try putting a Z6 pan on a Y8? Maybe it doesn't work that way (i don't see why it'd matter), but a Y8 worked fine on my Z6.
Maybe he just looked at it and assumed it wouldn't work, i thought it wouldn't work either, but when i test fitted it, it was fine.
Edit: Hmm, i thought my pan was from a Y8...i just researched a bit on Google and found this.
"oil pan= we had to use the z6 oil pan on the z6 block = we tried to transfer the y8 oilpan onto the z6 block BUT there are 2 oil pan bolts that DO NOT align near the trannie/flywheel=so we stayed with the z6 oil pan. "

cannot interchange the Z6 and Y8 oil pans, the rear main seal holder is bigger on th Y8......
Y8 pan could work on a Z6, but it would leak

Im pretty sure a z6 and y8 pan could be interchangeable if you also swap out the oil pick ups. If not then im not sure if it would work properly. Z6's are different in a lot of things compared to other d seires motors.

He's right, it won't work, i got ahold of the guy i bought my pan from, it's from a Z6, why it was different from my Z6 pan, i don't know. I swore he said it was from a Y8, my appologies for false information.
Y8 cranks work in Z6s however.

Correct, too bad this thread is about oil pans and not about crank shafts.
