WILL 225/45/16 FIT ON A STOCK 2000 CIVIC SI ?????
Alright everyone, this one might be simple to you guys but to a noob it's a brain twister. I've got a 2000 Civic Si and I'm planning on going with a bigger tire. I currently have 205/45/16 and I was wondering if 225/45/16 would fit WITHOUT RUBBING? Would it behoove me to go with 215/50/16? If so, please explain why you've come to that conclusion. Has anyone run 225/45/16 on their 1996-2000 Civic? Please advise.

What do you mean? I'm currently running 205/45/16 all the way around..... I could run 215 but I hate CURB RASH. My reason for wanting to go 225 is because I'm sure I won't end up having any curb rash. In fact, the reason I'm asking about what tires I can go with is because I ended up picking up a set of the HFP 16" wheels in gunmetal. The HFP wheels are 6.5" wide.

Thanks for the info.... So when you say Toyo or Falken, do you mean in the 225/45/16 or do you mean in 215/50/16.......Or, are you suggesting the 215/45/16. If that is the case I might as well pull the tires 205/45/16's off my current rims and put those on the new wheels. Personally, I think the 205,45/16's are a bit narrow and I would prefer to go wider.
