if you want to lower the car and use the si springs...not that this is the recommended way, but cut the front 3 and the back 2. make sure you cut the bumpstop in half. the ride will be decent if your shocks are alright...but save yourself some money and buy something better.

Re: (littleredcivic)
Don't cut springs..
Yuor friend's springs are stiffer (bigger rate constant) than yours but i'm not sure. Ask in Honda.
If it's just for the looks and LITTLE improvement buy some (like they call) lowering springs like eibach pro-kit or H&R. With eibach you don't loose almost any comfort and it's cheap.
Good luck!

I think it might raise your car quite a bit.
Some other people have put on 99-00 si springs in their civics and ended up with a higher car due to weight differences.

Re: will 00 SI springs lower a 92 4dr Civic (M12)
I would never cut a set of springs.
I would like to lose some of the fender gap but I do not want to worry about driving over speedbumps & driveways. I have my Integra for that
I just want to give my Civic alittle style. I was asking about the SI springs cause they were free.

Thats not a bad idea
Seriously, all these people that tell you to cut your springs are wack. They say cutting 1 or 2 coils isnt bad or w/e, but i advise against it. If honda wanted their springs to be any shorter stock, they would of made them like that. We have Aftermarket lowering springs for a reason, where they are tested to perform at this height.

The SI doesn't use shorter springs to lower it a bit, it uses gravity (with it's plump belly) to slam it The rears would be a wild card, since the ek rear setup is different.
