Default will a 00' si ecu work for a mini-me?

as the topic title implies, will this work? i have a '00 dx d16y7 with a '99 ex d16y8 head and etc. should i acquire an ex ecu? isn't there a difference from the 96-98 and 99-00 harnesses? will my dx im and tb work with this configuration?

thanks in advance.

There's no diffrence between a 96-98 and a 99-00 ex ECu.
are u sure there's not difference? or do u mean the program? coz the wire is different on 96-98 and 99-00. a 96 ecu wont plug into a 99-00 car, also a 99 ecu wont plug into a 96 car.

that's what i was thinking as well. i thought i had read that somewhere. don't some people refer to the 99-00's as obd2.5?

the si ecu will plug in and will probably work but th vtec x-over, fuel and ignition maps and rev limiter will be pretty off for the d-series, best to get the ex ecu.

as far as using your TB, not %100 sure. the DX uses a 3 wire iacv while all other models use the 2 wire. the 3 wire is a combined setup that gets rid of the manual cold idle setup valve. the 3 wire plug simply sends a temp signal to the ECU telling it to advance the iacv until the engine is warm. if you wanna run a EX ecu you will have to re-wire your iacv to the ECU and you will loose your cold idle stepup. what you can do is just get the Y8 intake manifold (had to be from a 5-speed ONLY) and run a 2 wire iacv and the manual cold idle setup.

here is a pic of what i am talking about...

thanks for all of the advice and suggestions. i really appreciate it. i think i'm going to wait until i get the ex im, tb, and 99-00 ecu to avoid most problems and complications. spoon_ek9 suggested i look into getting a obd1 ecu for it's chipping possiblities. if i did that, would i still need to rewire my iacv if i kept my dx tb?

I did a mini me swap with my stock dx ecu and the idle was at 1,500 RPM. I put in a Type R ecu and the idle is still at 1,500 RPM, but now it jumps up and down from 1,400 RPM to 1,600 RPM at idle. Why is this? Is it the bigger fuel maps giving me the idle jumping?

A friend of mine used an SI ECU in his ex civic and started
beating the hell out of it. It took just a couple of hours to blow
up the motor.
