Wierd thing with Wiring OBD1 dizzy plug to OBD2 harness
Alright lets see if I can write this in a way that people will understand. I'm using the OBD2 wiring harness thats from my 1997 civic hatch and mating it onto the OBD1 B16a2 swap. I searched and everyone said to convert the OBD2 wiring harness all you need to do is change up the distributor plugs and alternator plugs.
In my searches, people said to just match up the colors when splicing in the OBD1 plugs to the OBD2 harness. I though simple.....Well when I tried matching up the two OBD1 dizzy plugs there were 3 that matched and the rest were different colors. I had to resort to the OBD1 and OBD2 pinout sheets to match wires. This happend for both alternator and dizzy.
Has anyone else had this happen before? Im sure that the motor i received is a second generation B16 because of the gray plugs and the head's date stamp reads 91 so its from a 1992 car ( unless JDM engines dont use the same kind of stamping technique as the US).
