Wierd revving sound coming out of my 00 SiR
 

When I rev it sounds different all of the sudden, a little more high pitched? wtf? Any ideas? could a belt is off ?

man...that could be just about anything....and without being able to hear it I doubt anyone will be able to give you an answer for it. Just check it all over..

does it happen at all rpm?
with or w/out load?

Is this a sitting still rev? It could be a vacuum leak or just the air being sucked past the TB plate.

It turned out to be the power steering pump. The fucking this is going to cost me $900 CDN, Fawk... Has anyone else ever had troubles with their power steering pump?

Haven't heard of it recently.

Check out the classifieds and you might be able to find a used one for UBER-cheap.

Save yourself a bunch of money. Just get rid of your power steering. Its free horsepower (ok, so only like 1hp), but its not like you really need it anyway.
