either or... all depends on the build/tune.

What are your whp goal and what is your budget? What motor is this going on?

true but everything has its pros and cons. personally for a small motor like a 1.6L or less i would go turbo not s/c. with superchargers it takes displacement to make power and not to mention that alot of the s/c kits are just as expensive if not more than just getting a basic turbo kit. plus a brand new greddy turbo kit for the 92-95 civic with sohc can be had for very cheap. its good if u live in cali cause there carb certified.

Stock is reliable....
As stated before with a good Tune and everything done well AND NOT HALF ASSED. Like the guy I bought my EJ6 from did it can be 100% reliable.

if you have to do one I would say go turbo but either is a fine option. like previous posters said dont "half *** it" and it will be reliable.

X3, but as far as the original question of reliability, a roots type supercharger is always going to be more reliable. First of all, most of them are on a sealed type oil system so there is no oil feed or return line to break, bust, or fall off, no extra holes in your oil pan, (on some turbos) no coolant lines. Also, the amount of boost on a supercharger is decided by the size of the pulley, not a wastegate which as more than a few people on HT know all too well can fail or malfunction causing a nasty boost spike and pop a motor. Now I say this not to poke at your manhood or anyone else that is running a SC, but the only time that I would suggest using one is if you are putting together a female driven car that doesn't need to be uber-fast, but does need to be as reliable as possible.
