You're just dumb. "VTEC killer" doesn't mean that it actually stops vtec from engaging.

HAhaha....
anyways....true racecars don't need VTEC, the engines are built to work in a certain powerband. Once out on the track the car stays in a certain working RPM range and doesn't need the extra complex valvetrain of VTEC, as the RPM's stay high enough at all times to not need the "base" profile of the cam.
This is used so you can use the advantages of the VTEC engine parts, but do without VTEC and the whole mechanism.

im thinking with all the power u would produce from a turbo....u dont need a vtec, its just another thing to break when producing MAD HONDA POWER y0!
so those ppl with high hp engines dont really NEED vtec......i think......
edit: high hp as in 700hp +

Well, read my post! And read the Toda website...

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Toda »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Design
The primary and secondary lobes are designed to be the same size. Overall construction of the cam has been heavily revised. With areas of stress, rigidity and weight all greatly benefiting. Normal cams are created from solid blanks, but the VTEC KILLER CAM is produced from a hollow blank, which not only reduces weight but also improves valve timing accuracy through a reduction in flexing. The cam is designed to bed in quickly and have a low wear rate.
Characteristics
The mid rocker cam is removed & both pins are changed, reducing the valve train mass for better response. Disabling the VTEC system removes fluctuations in the oil pressure system, securing a reliable oil feed to all the main moving components. Lost motion valve should be removed. For max performance, should be used in conjunction with TODA Sports Injection kit.
The kit comes complete with camshafts and special hardware needed to complete the conversion.

Wrong.
Marauder was right
That would be the only reason that you would possibly want to remove VTEC, thats why I thought all of you guys were idiots when you were saying thats what the function of the cam actually was.

this is easy. race cars dont need vtec because like said, they are always in the powerband. of coarse a vtec head is designed to flow better stock than a non vtec head, so using a vtec head w/ race cams on a "track car" vtec isnt needed. basically, it has nothing to do w/ simplifiying the valvetrain, its just theres no point in using low cam high cam design of vtec, when the motor is built to always be using the high cam. as long as it idles and gets down the track, no need to worry about low end power w/ is the whole point of vtec anyways.

This is the stupidest thread I've read in a long time. So many morons in here, so little time for me to flame before I have to get back to work.
