Default Why wont my car rev past 7K?

Here's the set-up. In a 92 CX
Chipped P28 8500 redline 5500 x over
B18A bottom end
B16A head GSR cams adn AEM gears
S1 B18A LS tranny..

I got a new dizzy today and put it on thinking that would fix it..No more ghetto LS on the Vtec head.

I was thinking too much advance? The intake cam is advanced about 2-3 degrees. While I still have not fine timed the ign timing with a light. Could this be my problem. The car pulls great up to about 6800-7K then I feel like I am pushing it too hard and it stops pulling. (oh yeah and i know that it is not good to be pushing the LS bottom end like this)

Ever thought about it being the actual ecu?

*edit*

Hell no do not rev that motor past 8,000 unless you dont want to keep it intact.

yea I know I know...I just wish i could take it up to 8K....
I had a P72 for a while and traded it for the p28...better X over timing.

my brother's build is about the same.. he had a b16a head on for a while with a p72 ecu.. we revved it over 7500 couple times but there's hardly any noticeable gains after that.. now it runs a b18C1 head with a b18a block, type r cams/gears.. we still don't run it over 7500 even though the ecu redlines at 8200.. xover for VTEC is at about 5200. and it's not even chipped.

um the rod ratio of a B18A/B is almost identical to that of a B18C1
B18A rod length is 137mm and the B18C is 138mm

the reason the B18A/B had a lack of a red line was not because of rod ratio, but the engines cam profiles were designed for lower rpm powerband

I take my SI to 8,500 everyday.

Yes i know, the fuel cut-of is like 8,200.

But for some reason my rev. limiter kicks in at 8,500 and i feel the power till than.

even if your power starts to drop off at a certain point it is good to shift a couple hundred rpms after that so when you get into the next gear you stay in your powerband...espescially on hondas with vtec...dropping out of vtec slows you down.
