why is it ticking from the head after itr cams intalled into b16???
ok seems like im getting some pretty loud ticking from the side where the distributor is. i just installed some itr cams into my b16. before the install my b16 ran perfect and the head was quiet since i just had the head redone and machined like 7-8k miles ago. im still using stock b16 valvetrain. head have been adjusted and valve lashed to specs. right after the install it idled quiet but after driving it for a block and coming back it started ticking. why is it doing this???

Thats simple the itr cams are way thicker thats why you hear a bit of thicking bt all you got to do is take it back to the shop where you got it re-done and tell em you installed bigger cams now and that you would like fir em to adjust your rocker arms that should make the thicking stop

valveadjustment, and use ONLY 10w-30 oil. teh B series motors are designed for that oil. only use 5w in the winter
some people dont realize that proper oil thickness can reduce the ticking sound
but absolutely get the valve adjustment done if you are even the slightest bit questionanble if it needs to be done. loose adjustment is bad for performance and reduces valvetrain life somewhat.
do the adjustment, enjoy slightly better performance and no ticking lol

are the LMA's good? The old style ones are crap. Honda discontinued them and are now using h22/itr style LMA's.
Probably not your problem but it is something that could be ticking.

why are you usin itr cams on stock b16 head? itr engines use dual valve springs for a reason, they are needed. id suggest upgrading before you think your b16 can still rev to 9k safely ;-) with itr cams...

you should check you valve lashes when the motor is cold then drive it for twenty minutes then re-check them to makes sure that the valves are at the correct specs.
