Why are HX O2 sensors so expensive?
At http://www.oxygensensors.com, the EX/LX/CX/DX sensor is $89 while the HX manual one is $289. Will an EX sensor work?
Edit - Forgot to ask if one brand was better than another, I found a Beck/Arnley (I've never heard of them) for $180.

better fuel economy, higher grade of O2 sensor??
i suppose. that's all i can think of. can't see any other reason why

The HX o2 sensor is a wideband one I believe. MUCH better for tuning your engine (and in the HX's case, fuel economy). Rick

If your sensor is old and clogged with carbon you should replace it with the same type but the wide band 5 wire sensor from the VX won't work and wont give any performance advantages.
There have been posts about the DIY wide band sensor for tuning purposes but I don't know if anyone has been able to replace the stock O2 snesor with a wide band and gotten it to work with the stock ECU.
