Why does my car only go to 5800 rpms
i have a d15 and it only revs to 5800 so i chipped an ecu and set the rev limit at 7000 and it only went to 5800. so i was damn thats weird so we but a p06 and we know its good and and damn it , it went to 5800 too.
what is the problem

there is about 5 different d15 motor all have different rev limiters. but if the stock EcU wouldn't let you rev past 5800 why do you want to rev higher. your not going to make power up there. your just going to be puting uneeded stress on you valve train and end up brakeing something

yes it is. say he loses compression in one, or two, cylinder(s), or spark plugs go bad, or fuel injector goes bad. then he wouldnt have enough power to get the engine revved up. try taking off the 2 middle wires on an inline 4 and see how high it revs. think before speaking please.

I had the same problem with my D16Y7 everytime it got to about 5500 RPMS it would feel like it was hitting the rev limiter. As it turned out it was because my timing was off so you may want to check that out.

yea really why would u want your d15 to rev up to 7 or 8000 anyway it would detonate. Mine hits cut off at 5800 to and i dont even like to take it up higher than that because it starts to lose power at 4500 rpms since thats where it makes the most horse power a whole 70 lol unless your just tryin to blow it up i would take the 5800
