why does my b16 redline at 6500
i just did a sir 2 swap with my friend and everything looks good. i was wondering if a vacuum leak effects my cars redline. does timing also affect it. im running a p30 com.

check the oil i had a similar prob. i was racing sum ls on the highway and my motor redlined at 6500 rpm come to find out my oil pressure was low and the car goes into safe mode

Not necessarily. Back in the day when I was too poor to have my oil changed, I let it go for 9k. One month I kept putting off checking it when I filled up since I usually get myself into a hurry when it's 10 degrees outside. My car wouldn't go into VTEC, which prompted me to check the oil... which was 2ish quarts low Added a couple quarts and it drove fine... my oil light never even flickered.

do you think that a cam seal leak can also affect it. how many quarts should an sir 2 take?
