Why does it fell like my tires HOP?
I have 92 hatch, and for a while now, when I get on it and go through each gear it fells like the tires in the front hop when I slam it into second gear.
Now I just put a b18c1 swap(hella quick), and it does it when I slam it into second and third gear. It fells like is skips.
Also if like I am doing a white smoke or peel out. The whole front end feels like the tires are hopping and shakes the **** out of the tires or something.
I dont know if its maybe my stock shocks in the front(about at old as the car) or maybe a camber problem or alignment problem.
Just need to know what it could be, so I can eliminate the problem
Any advice would help!
Thanks!

Dude its feels, not fell or fells.
It is probally a problem with your suspension setup, chances are your shocks are blown, also camber can definately play a part in how your car responds. And it could also be some shitty tires too.

Re: Why does it fell like my tires HOP? (Civichatch972)
It's called wheelhop. What happens is that as torque is applied, the suspension "rotates" moving the wheel (usually backward toward the rear, although it depends on what's weak in the suspension/drivetrain) until it loses traction, and then it "rotates" back to the proper position - if torque is still present and enough to generate the twist, it will happen again.
This is a huge problem for FWD drag vehicles, and there are a ton of solutions (although if torque becomes high enough, no matter what you do, you can generate this problem, but even if you get the suspension stiff enough, then you start breaking axles).
Multiple fixes that may reduce (or eliminate, depending on the condition/hp of your current engine and/or suspension)
New shocks
New springs
Stiffer shocks and springs
Replacement OEM bushings
Polyurethane bushings
Replacement OEM motor mounts
Replacement polyurethane motor mounts
Replacement all metal motor mounts (bad for ride quality, good for drag)
Z10 engineering radius arms
Competition engineering radius arms
Camber correction kit (if camber is off, the tire may lose traction)
Caster correction (if off)
Wheel alignment
All the above can help, but it depends on the source of your problem.

Re: Why does it fell like my tires HOP? (shawnhayes)
Oops I meant feels.
Thanks for the info.
I am thinking that its probably my stock shocks in the front cause there about 10 years old.
Yeah it does it more, with this GSR Swap.( by the way this swap I just got is SWEET!)
Ill get some new shocks and see if that works
What brand or type of shocks should I get that would help out this problem?
Thanks for the info.

It all depends on what kind of driving you plan to do with your car, auto-x, drag, whatever.
I would say though a good all around shock would be the kyb agx, also a camber kit would help alot too, getting that would straighten out your wheels and let there be more contact for your tires to the road. Good luck man, glad you like your swap.

I just plan on using for daily driver and maybe a little drag strip action once in while.
I do have a camber kit(progress)
Maybe I also just need a alignment again.

well it may just be your shocks then, when you get new shocks go ahead and take it to a shop and have them check out your alignment then.

DEF
ps...you should get shocks first I didnt see that and alignment still having problems get some arms.

Other (primarily cheaper) shocks may be better suited for street driving (as the Koni's are very very firm), but I don't think it's easy to find someone who sprung (ha ha) for Koni's who's been unhappy with them. (unless they were looking for full race setups like Tein's or better).

z10 radius arms...i can't stress this enough...best mod to help remove wheel hop that I can think of...
However, once a suspension is up to par with good bushings, reasonable springs, and shocks, I must agree with you that Z10's rule after that. But putting Z10's on a worn suspension, while it will fix the wheel hop, will not repair the other handling maladies that most people don't recognize while driving the vehicle.
