why does exhaust sounds like *** in high rev?
Hey guys I have just recently got a full thermal cat back for my 98 civic ex. I know thermal is not known for ricey sounding exhuasts but for 5k - redline my exhuast gets real raunchy sounding. I do not have a header and am using my stock cat. Could these be causing my exhuast to sound really crappy?

think he talking about rpm s..when the exhaust sounds like a weedeater ..but put a resonator on..if u already have one..try a 24 inch resonator with a 2in housing..that wont quiet the exhaust much but will lower the tone of the exhaust

i have a thermal cat-back on my 97 ex and it sounds good. it doesn't buzz or anything. its nice and deep. by the way i ordered the one for the 99-00 civic ex instead of the 96-98. thermal is the only company that seperates these years i dont know why but maybe this is why mine sounds good??

Yes it does sound like a bumble bee. And here is where my rookie-ness shows. Where the heck does a resonator go on an exhaust. What does it look like? Where can I get one. Thanks dudes.

i have the thermal on my 99 dx coupe with an intake only, and i love the way it sounds........i dont know the exact rpm's but its nice and deep through untill just short of my redline, then it gets a nice little rasp to it. ........the thing is i didnt have that little rasp untill i got my intake....so when i put headers on it who knows.....
i know that Zylex SNL has the thermal as well

thermals come with resonators already. you dont need to add one on. its the piece after the cat that kinda looks like the muffler but smaller.

the resonator looks like a big cigar..from 12 to 24 inch s long, about 3 to 4 inch s thick..any muffler shop can help u out..shouldnt have to pay more than $70 install d..to go along with that $5 exhaust sys. *rofl*
