it could be either, but the fact he charges it and it works, then drives it and it doesnt, says alternator.
just go to autozone and tell them to check both, its free.

some batteries are serviceable and have water in them you can add to if it gets low. most newer batteries are sealed and non serviceable.

not just any water though. it has to be distilled water.

He said, "have you checked to see if there is water in it? if not, fill 'er up."
"You" being the OP and "it" being the battery. He did refer to the battery.

he probably meant the voltage regulator which CAN cause an undercharge condition.

Did you ever think that you called more attention to you not knowing about it because you called the other guy a retard and then acted like filling a battery with water was a stupid idea?

You called the employee mentioned in the first post a retard because you didn't understand what was being said.

maybe a rusted alternator. hit it a couple times if that doesnt work run to your auto store and buy a new alternator!

Re: why do I need to keep on charging the battery? (Rock_Star)
It is possibly the alternator, but I'd start with going to WalMart or a parts store and asking them to test the charge on your battery and alternator. SO SIMPLE!!! If it's niether, then check your blinker fluid and muffler bearings. Those get out of wack really easily under daily driving conditions.
