Why are Civic SI's so damn slow?
I was driving my GF's 01' Integra LS tonight. When a riced out Electron blue SI rolls up and starts revving. Now appearance wise my girl's Integra looks stock, no cheezy *** Altezza lights like the ones on this particular Civic, it ain't even lowered yet, but I did install a Iceman intake, DC 4-2-1 headers and a 5Zigen Fireball cat back. The LS is also an auto. I put the car in D1 and do a brake stand. Hold the RPM's as high as the torque converter will allow and mash the gas pedal when the light turns green. I chirped the tires, and took off, the SI was still side by side with me. I shifted into 2nd and pulled half a car length, hit 6700RPM, and shifted into 3rd. By this time I was 1-1/4 full car lenghts ahead of that slow *** SI. I cut him off and flash my hazards. We stop at the next light. I look over at this guy, and he just stares straight ahead. This time, I just left it in D3, didn't even bother doing a brake stand. I just have 1 foot ready to hit the gas, and one on the brakes. The light turns green, and I floor it. This time, he launched better and pulled almost a car length, the I drop it into 2nd and redline it. I actually hit the rev limiter and quickly shifted into 3rd again, we're dead even again, but I just keep pulling, finally by the time I shift to 4th gear, he's behind me again. Flashed my hazards, I won again.
The guy turned onto another side street and disappeared. I bet he was pissed that his little SI got spanked hard by a non-VTEC (and automatic) LS. I know he had some mods too, because I heard his intake, also he had some cheap bullshit muffler. But still, I thought SI's were faster than that.

Si "Slow Import" ! lol maybe the kid just couldn't drive. the b16 is not a very torquey motor so u need to rev the living crap out of it to make it do anything. it has no torque that is why most Si's u see aren't all that fast.

yeah, good job, race one Si and make a universal determination that they're all slow. never mind that the driver coulda sucked, that it might not've even been an Si but an EBP dx... but hey, whatever makes you feel better.......

Why are Integra Ls's so damn slow. I raced one the other day in Reverse and beat him by 2 car lenths. I thought LS's were faster than that. It was modded too because I heard a sshhh in his car.

ok, dont get your panties in a bunch....he DID make an assumption that ALL Si's are slow...that might not necessarily be true, but stock for stock an LS would come out on top. however, his LS is modified, was the Si? if so, what were the mods? for all i know, the Si coul have been bone stock. you guys shouldnt flame on him. JUST RACE IT.

It's all about driving skill. Just because I can get 12's in my car doesn't mean that you'll get 12's if you drive my car.
Let's just say that you were faster than him in your car on that day.

My pops (Yeah I said my POPS) has a hybrid Si and his is no where near slow. I like to drive his car when mines is getting worked on. His is a perfect sleeper, just droped a little 15's a wing but o and it's a 96 Civic Ex. For a 40+ man u wouldn't think of him running side by side with u, but he does. And the few things he added to his Si' can beat a stock one anyday and it's N/A

The 94-00 Integra LS puts out 142hp@6300/127lb-ft@5200 vs the 99-00 Si that puts out 160hp@7600/111lb-ft@7000. How do you figure the LS would come out on top...?
