why is b18c1 redlining at 6500k w/ gsr ecu??
just got the ecu wired up correctly (we think) but there car is redlining at 6500.. setup is a
93 civic dx
96 b18c1
95 obd1 gsr ecu
we put a skunk2 Intake manifold on and that is the only mod that was done to the engine since it was put back into roomates car after the car was wrecked and it ran fine w/ before it wrecked.
im almost sure its a wiring problem.. isn the dx redline 6500K?? and yes i do have the correct ecu in the car.. what could be the problem?
also posted in tech forum.. thanks everyone

this is just a stab in the dark but it sounds like the car is running in "limp mode". limp mode is when you have a serious engine problem such as cel 71-74 random misfire. the computer lowers the redline if this is the case. did you check if you have any error codes?

figured it all out.. a friend initiatized the vafc and reset everything and didt put it back.. car is running ALOT better!! thanks for the help
we are still getting code 10 but i think we just need to reset the ecu and that code will go away..

From Hondata:
The engine will only rev to 3200 rpm:
In this situation the error codes cannot be retrieved from the ECU (the check light will remain on solidly). The ECU is in ‘limp home mode’, which means that there is a problem accessing the ROM so the ECU is running off a backup processor. The ECU will use fixed ignition and fuel values.
