Default why is it that...

i dont see many guys w/ 4 doors around? is there a performance disadvantage? or do most of you prefer the 2 or 3 door versions? i prefer the 4 doors, and am wondering why i see so few? there's a black 99 5spd 4 door w/ 30k miles for 13k at a dealership 5 mi from me. and im wondering if it's a good idea? i might have to hold off on it, until i have the cash for a down payment, but if it's still there in a few months (which i think it will be, since people who buy 5MT normally prefer 'sportier' cars, which means (to most) 2 door, and the people who do buy 4 door usually buy 4AT not 5MT) i'd like to make it mine (it is certified btw) and they're offering a special 5.9% apr for 5 years (how long id like to finance it for) and id like to take the chance that has presented itself, but i want to make sure there aren't performance differences, not in the engine, cuz i kno it's the same, but i mean like weight, and such... is there a significant difference?

the heaviest 96+ civic is the Si 2dr which is about 2612lbs.
the lightest 96+ civic is a DX 4dr which is about 2339lbs
so there ya go.
id get a 4dr if i could. 5spd.

I love 4 doors! My first car was a 4 door, then i tried a hatch but i just wasnt feelin it like a sedan. Now I've gone back to the 4 doors and i couldnt be happier. I think sedans make great project cars. Get the sedan you wont regret it.

I believe is less of a weight issue, it proven that not HB is the lightest in the civic line up and sedan is the heaviest.

However, it is more about structural integrity. The frame is more solid w/o the extra doors.

I 4 doors, I am driving one. It nice to have when you have friends to drive around.

Why yes, yes that's exactly what I'm saying.

Nothing against you or it, just take a look around. Odds are if you aren't driving a civic because you enjoy hooking it up, then you're a butchy dyke.
