ITR definitely if you can afford it, but my built LS/VTEC was cheaper than a JDM ITR which is why I went the other route.

ITR is a great motor right from the factory.
But...it is overpriced. I'd rather go with the LSVTEC. For the price of an itr, you could build a nice, reliable lsvtec that would beat the type R.

Re: who is the king type R or ls VTEC (BauleyCivic)
i like b16s, but lets try to keep this thing logical. would you take a b16, ls/vtec or a type R??
probably a ls/vtec - less money
type R - no engine can touch the c5, or should i say no B-series engine can
b16 - r/s ratio, but then again, a heavily modded d-series can pull harder, and has just as much torque BUT, if you don't have the thousands for a GSR or c5 this is NOT a bad platform to start from
i really don't want to start a b16 vs. ls/vtec vs. c5 argument. take your pick they're all made by

ITR cause i have one
but seriously they both have their own merits. it really depends on what you plan on using them for like me i plan on doing a lot of road racing so the type-r is perfect. but for drag the lsvtec can be built to make a ton of power just as long as the builder is good
but i love my ITR motor
