who has had a blown d16
I was just wondering if any one else has blown the motor in their 96-98 civic ex. I lost mine at 75,xxx miles, a friend lost theirs at 77,xxx miles. Also, what part went? Mine was the crank and #3 rod in my 97 ex, my freind lost their #3 rod in a 97 ex. I talked to a Honda factory certified tech and he said he's seen alot of blown 96-97 ex motors. He also said something about a block redesign for those years was the problem. Oh yeah any one know of a recall for it. Thanks!!

97 ex, 55k, cyl 2 (rod bearing im guessing), also running very low compression in cyl 2. was induced by poor attempt at tuning, thanks to garage kwai

Re: who has had a blown d16 (Spade)
It seems like alot of people get spun bearings on a D16. Why is this? Would using ACL bearings help solve the problem?
