White Spark Plug on b16a
I pulled the spark plug from cyl. 1 and found the electrode on the spark plug was white. I searched this topic but I am confused on some of the responses by people, is it running too lean or rich? What will solve this problem? the reason for pulling them is to see what kind and because I have white smoke coming from the exhaust-this only happens once in a while. One last ? does anyone know what the original spark plugs that came in the jdm B16a? the reason I ask is to see if there the original ones. They say ND on them so not really sure. Thanks for the help.

That site has really good information about spark plug problems, might even tell you how to fix it.
As for the OE plugs, I could be mistaken, but didn't all Honda's come stock with NGK plugs?

i've always known it to be lean with white residue, black, or dark residue would mean rich, meaning unburned fuel residue.

What does the smoke smell like?? It could be a lot of things. The worse it could be is the head gasket, but it could also be an oil leak, so check your oil.
White is definatly lean. So, the smoke is not likely fuel related.
Don't worry if thier the stock plugs, if in doubt, replace them. Spark plugs are cheap and in stock at all autopart stores. It can't hurt to change them, but it could hurt if you don't.

I called my friend at Honda. He's ASC certified...he should know. I'll find out and get back to you.
