Default white smoke when revving car! why??

ok i just put in a 2000 longblock in my 93 integra. motor have 90k miles only and before putting it in i did a leakdown test and everything was good. i just did an oil change after putting the motor in for 500 miles only since the engine been laying around for 1 year in the garage. i notice that when i rev the motor to like 5-6k rpm alot of white smoke some out of the tail pipe why is that? motor is not burning any coolant cuz i check the radiator and it was still full to the top. what can this be???

***all seals have been replaced while putting the motor in.

it can be oil too! you could have bad valve seals or the rings are wornout. sounds like you recevied someone else's problem

White is coolant. Blue is Oil. Black is Fuel.
It could be burning a very small amount of coolant, but it makes ALOT of smoke.

Agreed, make sure your gaskets are good anywhere coolant could leak into the combustion chambers, such as the head gasket, throttle body gasket, all your water jackets and fittings. White smoke is definitely coolant.

u actually would hope that it IS your headgasket. Because that is easily fixable. If its something else then it can be serious.

just drive the car. if motors sit for a long time they do weird things.

even new exhausts or cat smoke for a little bit.

post back in a week of driving the beast

if you consider $40-50 and a couple hours of work "hella expensive" then you shouldnt have a car.

there are a ton of tutorials. Your saying that you swapped the motor into your car but you cant change the headgasket on it? its the easiest **** ever. Get a tq wrench and a breaker bar. Take the head off, put on a new gasket. Put the head back down, TQ head to spec. Done. All that can be found on this forum in step by step instructions.

Head gaskets aren't that hard. If you can swap an engine, you can definitely change a head gasket.

If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball....

Is it burning everytime you hit 5k? Is it burning when you downshift? Does this just happen after the car's been sitting?

If it happens after the car's been sitting it could be your valve seals. Oil seeps through after sitting; then it burns it off when you drive for a little bit.
If it happens everytime you hit 5k it could be your rings (most expensive), valve guides, or simply headgasket (least expensive)

I had the same thing happen when I bought a jdm b18. It smoked right off the bat at initial startup. Drove it 4 months then rebuilt the head. Turns out it was 14/16 valve seals that's why it burned all the time at 5k. But that's just cuz it was 14 valve seals
