Whistling noise heard inside Cabin at WOT
I have a 99 hatchback 1.6L non vtec. when i floor it at about 4grand i start to hear a faint whistling noise and the tone changes and gets louder the higher i rev it. I have 2 ideas as to what it could be. First i think it could be the **** as exhaust, it's a car that sat for 5 months so i think it could be something has rusted inside the muffler or something and blocking flow and causing the noise. or second it could be the feul pump. has anyone ever heard of this whistling noise before? does anyone know what the feul pressure should be at ifdle and what it should stay at at say 6000 rpm? cool any help or insight would be apreciated.
