Default wheres the extra weight at on a si?

ive been reading around and am trying to find out what exactly makes the si so much more heavy and if its good weight as in performance oriented weight like rear disks ie. its funny cuz besides a sunroof i dont see where it could be?

Definitely the moonroof (plus motor), the sway bar in the front, the power mirrors, the rear wiper, air conditioning, and rear speakers add considerable weight over a CX/VX.

you have rear disc as well has bigger front brakes
you have rear swap bar
the front sway bar is bigger

you have a 80lb sunroof (which is a waste)

sohc vtec weight motor then a sohc nonvtec

beside the sunroof everything is worth the weight

motor people upgrade the the si/integra brake system and sway bars

swap the motor out and you end up the same weight

sunroof is the only wasted weight

cx dx curb weights don;t include ac system which was installed at the dealer

This is incorrect.

The non-ABS Si's have 9.5" front brakes like the rest of the hatches. There isn't a rear sway bar, and hatches other than the Si never had a front sway bar.

1994 Honda Civic DX HB MT 2178
1994 Honda Civic Si HB MT 2390

1994 Honda del Sol S MT 2301
1994 Honda del Sol Si MT 2414
1994 Honda del Sol VTEC MT 2491

the dx hatch is pretty striped down
where the del sol s has power window and and i think ac was standard

so you compare the si del sol to si hatch its only 24lbs difference

compare del sol si to vtec model its 77lbs difference
thats all in the motor!!! d16 to b16 is 77lbs difference

It probably has the weight seeing as it actually has everything a car SHOULD have from the factory, unlike the CX and VX. Hell, when I got my '92 CX it was pitiful (obviously, weak..SO WEAK).. One mirror..no p/s (didn't really need it though), no a/c..puny interior..

Si's are nice cars.

i have a del sol vtec.. chicks like convertable more then a sunroff.. lol..

and yes si's the way to good.. unless you plan to gut it the day after you buy it... sohc vtec is fun to dog out while you saving for a swap..
then you already have a gauge cluster with a tach.. you geta p28 whch you can always chip for you motor swap.. a clock for petes sake..

^^^Hater^^^

I have had just about every body style Civic, I have a EM1 now and looking for a Del Sol as a project. I like the way the interior kinda wraps around and the targa top. Del Sols can be dope as long as they dont swap the front end.
