Default Where are the screws to install Intake?

well i tried to install my intake and took off 2 screws on my 98 hatchback. the 2 screws i took out were on the pasenger side of the box where the stock filter is. one was 10mm and the other was 8mm. the box is still stuck and i dont know where else to unscrew. any info on where the other screw(s) are will be nice. thanks a lot.

This is what it should have looked like when you got it if it truly was stock

So which "screws" did you remove? There is one underneath the big box, securing it to the engine bay

the yellow circles are where i took the screws out. the 8mm had a ring like thing on it. i didnt take any bolts from under.

Also, do you know how many screws hold the resonator and can i take it off without removing my bumper?

there should b like a metal ring with a screw in it, just unwind the screw and the ring should open up, its right under the filter box on the neck of the throttle body

there's usually 2-3 holding the stock intake box in, one usually against the fender side of the bay, one holding it down to the frame rail, and maybe one holding it to the strut tower (prob. under the tube coming out of it). There's one clamp with a screw holding the intake tube to the throttle body. The other end is a spring "clamp" that holds the tube to the box. For the resonator, there's going to be 2-3 as well. It's been a LONG time since I removed a resonator so I can't remember where they all are. I *think* there's 2 holding it to the frame rail bolted in w/ the head facing the fender & 1 other one that holds it up to the bottom of the frame rail. You don't have to take the bumper off but it does make it easier. You WILL need to remove the plastic fender liner & the 2nd liner that goes under the engine bay. It'll be easier if you raise the car up slightly when you do it if you don't remove the bumper.

Just give it a good tug.I did this last friday to install a intake on my 96 civic cx which is stock.I had to actually sit atop inside the engine bay while pulling the bottom part of the stock air box off the throttle body.LIke dave said there is a clamp that you must umscrew that holds the bottom part of the airbox to the throttle body ,I did not know it was there when I pulled it off but had to pull the thing like there was no tomorrow.Put some muscle into it and it should come off.

there is like 3 10mm bolts that hold the icebox in place. we could only get 2 out on my friends 97 cx so we just pulled till it broke.

the clamp you guys are talking about is on the drivers side right? and when u push it it opens the whole where the air filter is right? what is weird is i pulled out a 8mm bolt with a ring in it..im thinking about pulling that **** straight out but i dont want to break anything.

finished installing the intake. the 10mm and 8mm screw was all i needed to take out. i jus needed to detatch some tube and give it a good tug. had to use another metal tightener for the hose because my intake was originally cold air. the resonator was easy to take out. didnt need to take off the bumper. just use an extension to remove the 3-4 screws.
