Re: where is the fuel pump?
The fuel pump is underneath the "personal trunk" panel behind the seats. The panel with the two plastic lockable boxes- that needs to be removed and the pump is right under it. I believe mister Rogers was referring to a civic fuel pump.

Re: where is the fuel pump?
You can just buy the pump and then purchase a new strainer at a local parts store. There's a short length of hose attached to the pump that can be replaced for a dollar or two and fresh hose clamps should be installed with it. It sometimes comes with the pump. Aside from some grease for the electrical connector, that's everything you'd want to replace with the pump. You might borrow a fuel pressure tester while you're at the store to check everything when you are done. A new fuel filter is also a good idea with the new pump.
